Wash while charging
Quick and possibly stupid question... I can't find this answer anywhere.
Now that the weather is getting nicer in NY. Can I wash the Active E while it's plugged in? Can it charge outside in the rain? Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks! |

And I have plugged the car in when it is raining outside and it works. I do use the TOU delay to 12:05, so I don't know if that helps dry it out a little. I have plugged at outside ones without the delay and that worked ok too, but the rain was not the torrential downpours I've experienced in NJ during the summer. |

Yes you can. The J1772 connector was designed for safety in any weather condition. Obviously I wouldn't recommend you blasting a high pressure water hose directly into the charge port, but normal car washing is no problem, I've done it already and I have charged my ActiveE outside in the rain many times and even while it was snowing twice.

You have a long way to go to catch the current leader in number of times the ActiveE has been washed....I have only washed mine once in the month that I have had it!

So many bugs and black tar marks. I wax and clean every day or 2.
