Wash while charging

Quick and possibly stupid question... I can't find this answer anywhere.

Now that the weather is getting nicer in NY.

Can I wash the Active E while it's plugged in? Can it charge outside in the rain?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Contrary to popular opinion it does rain in SoCal.

And I have plugged the car in when it is raining outside and it works. I do use the TOU delay to 12:05, so I don't know if that helps dry it out a little. I have plugged at outside ones without the delay and that worked ok too, but the rain was not the torrential downpours I've experienced in NJ during the summer.

Yes you can. The J1772 connector was designed for safety in any weather condition. Obviously I wouldn't recommend you blasting a high pressure water hose directly into the charge port, but normal car washing is no problem, I've done it already and I have charged my ActiveE outside in the rain many times and even while it was snowing twice.

You have a long way to go to catch the current leader in number of times the ActiveE has been washed....I have only washed mine once in the month that I have had it!
