New Combo Fast Charging Standard vs CHAdeMO

Just thought I’d start a new thread on this, it should begin an interesting conversation.

Spark EV First New EV to Adopt New Fast Charging Standard

or will it be the BMW i3?

That's what the i3 will have. At this point I'm not sure if it will be standard or an option, I'm guessing an option. There aren't going to be many of these quick charge stations available for a long time IMHO,(with the exception of some areas of California) so I think a lot of people may opt not to spend the $1,500 or so to pay to have it included. I really don't expect to see many of them here in the NorthEast for a while though because of the high expense and difficult business model. How does anyone make money on them? If there isn't money to be made, deployment will never happen.

The quick charge stations are very expensive to install and the utilities charge a lot of money for the very high supply rate the stations need, especially if you have a highway location that has for or five stations.

I'm afraid its going to take quite a few years to get this all straightened out and figure out a way to hace DC quick charge affordable.
